Where did my Stimulus Checks Go?
If you’re wondering where did my stimulus checks go?
I live in my car a 2000 SUV.
I have a $125 Memory Foam mattress in the back of it.
The recent $1200 check went to.
$800 to tires.
$400 to AC blower.
$200 went to brake light switch and circuit board.
$1400 total
Gas costs me $75 or so a week to drive around to libraries to stay in AC during the day, or parks with shade trees. Also to stores to eat.
My earlier checks also went to car maintenance.
I’ve put over $2000 the past year into
Radiator
Water pump
Timing belt
ABS brake system
Brake booster
Master cylinder
Brakes and cylinders
So that’s the $1800 earlier stimulus checks.
Try to maintain a 21 year old car you use everyday to live in.
My car needs
Door locks broken $200 at least probably an actuator.
Broken door handle $200
Drive belt tensioner $200
$1000 ABS redone the recent fix used a used unit, it leaks, so I fill up the master cylinder daily.
My windshield is broken, but the shop refused to fixed even though insurance will pay for the glass. There’s a patched area the shop says is rusted, so a body shop has to do it. Unknown cost to fix body rust before a new windshield can be put in.
Paint is badly faded, so the car should be painted since bare metal now shows.
The front interior is shot, bare foam shows. $1500 or so to redo both seats in front.
Other than that, it runs, it gets 9 miles to the gallon.
Cooling system is okay now.
Other than grinding from tensioner it runs good.
Brakes stop but leak.
AC is okay, really good in rear zone.
Windows work.
At least it works, so I drive my home.
With a disabled back it’s torture being in a car or library all day.
